fine looking horse. if your a trail rider, you can't beat an app. IMHO.

i wonder from your user name if she's figured out the workings of a half hitch knot like my boy cisco has.
i can't tie him anywhere!! mostly i just drop the reins and he follows me wherever i go. real pest out in the pasture when i'm mending fences!!

Default Congrats!

I haven't ever had good luck with appy's chico was the biggest pain I ever met, he had little man issues.

Then their was Coco.. she was just way to moody when it got cold. And never really wanted to go out.

So I kind of gave up on them. I am going back to foundation morgans.

But I am happy for you. Keep us up to date on the progress. Another thought I have really never seen any appys chasing barrels what is their expertise?

well, i think it all depends on the attitude of the horse and the rider. i trail ride cisco exclusively. the lady that owned him before me did some jumping with him. and he can still do pertty good clearing downed trees on some of the trails i ride. i have seen a couple of good cutting horses that were apps. for the most part i like there durabillity and the fact they seem to be easy keepers for the most part. cisco seems to be absolutely tireless. and is as laid back as they come, without being dead headed. the horse i rode before him was named oreo(i didn't name him, called him jug head most of the time.) and he pretty much taught me how to ride. if the lady that ownes him would sell him he'd be mine. even though he was a little freaky about backing off a trailer. he always had to turn around and walk off. bad habit i know, but he would tremble and break out into a sweat if you forced it. be a real handful the whole ride after also.

your appy is cute!

i loooove appys! i dont own a horse, so for my lessons the instructor always assigns us a horse each week. my fav is Japalya, a leopard appy. but i cant ride her anymore cuz this other girl is scared of every other horse and only wants to be on Japalya cuz shes the only appy at the barn. so now i ride slick and cricket...but i still love appys!
