Friend's horse became a park ranger patrol/rescue horse
My friend had this great quarter horse/morgan cross that she competed in the Mclay medals classes jumping 3'6'' and up and then, when he got too old for that, she donated him to a riding school for beginner riders. The riding school had him for a few years and called her to say they were ready to retire him and she took him back and donated him so he became a park's dept. patrol/rescue horse. The best part was that his ranger rider ended up being a gal we competed against when we were juniors. (She was great. I used to chat with her while we were lined up awaiting the judge's decision...not good for placement but made for good friendships in the show ring.) I was so happy to know he ended up with her.
