Anyone a therapeutic riding instructor or involved in a program?

If you have experience with a program, please share your experiences.

I used to clean stables for a couple that has a therapeutic riding program. I also used to help with the kids when they came to ride and it is just a big joy to see how these kid's (mostly authistic) bonded with the horse and the horse with them. There was a child that eventually started walking after attending the program and it did't walk before ever.

Yes, it is a wonderful program and the people are so dedicated to it. They rescued a lot of the horses they are using in the program and that makes it even more special.
I bought my arabian from them because he was a bit to high strong for the program.

It is the BEST thing that you can do for YOURSELF.
You should get involved all programs no matter where they are located are in constant desparation for volunteers.
You start out by thinking it would be nice to do something for others. But in the end the smiles,enthusiasim, and joy that you bring not only to the riders but the families is way more than you would ever expect.
