Default Purina Amplify

A friend just started feeding his rope horse purina amplify to put a few pounds back on he lost this winter. He has only been feeding it for about two weeks and his horse has already shined up and gained about 15 lbs. All the reviews i have read have complimented it but they are all concerning rescues and old horses. At almost 1,000 calories a serving and a recomended 3-4 servings a day i was wondering if that kind of fat content was ok for their organs. Has anyone had any expierence feeding Amplify either good or bad?

I have not feed straight Amplify, but do feed Omlene 400 [formerly Complete Advantage, for years]which has amplify in it.
Just like with people every couple of years there is a new diet trend for horses. And just like people they are tried for awhile with no huge differences and that quickly people move on.
As far as the fat question- OCD is the most well know risk
