Default Rig

hope i have posted this in the right place

Ive never had anything to do with Rigs.. but saw one advertised as a childs horse .. has done pony club (which Im sure it wasnt allowed to attend if they had known)

is it possible to have the horse opperated on to remove the other testie or is it usually so far up in the abdomen that its not worth the expense of the opperation???

can they still father a foal???

I am not sure what you mean by rig? A stud? One that has dropped only one testicle? Yes they can operate to remove the other one and I would think they could still be a stud but with reduced mobility/supply? Not sure if that is genetic though, as you wouldnt want to breed that trait!

Default Rig reply

You should be able to have the other one removed as it may have dropped a bit further down since the other one was taken. You cant really breed from a rig as they arent always successful but its a bit of a 75% chance of not being able to create young.
If the testie is still high up in the tube then it will probably cost more to have an opperation as it will be more time consuming with maybe possible complications (which is why is was probably left there)
If your interested in this horse seek advice from the vet about the costs
