Default Sending the baby off....

This is kinda piggy-backing off another idea started by LTcH.

Background: I have a 2 year-old that is well started under-saddle and is ready to be sent off to the trainers for the winter. Eventually he will compete in cattle events but as he is still too small to handle the weight of a steer we are sending him to reining training for a few months to put a great handle on him.

Question:
As i stated previously he is only two and has lived in a pasture all his life. (never spent a night in a stall). He is one of the best minded colts i have ever been around. How important should access to daily turnout be in my decision between trainers to send him to? In relation to reputation, price, drive time, ect.

What are some expierences you have had with transitioning out-door horses to stall life?
