Yes insurance exsist and depending on the age of your horse well worth it. The best way to find a good company is call your vet or local surgical hospital and get a list of recommendation from them. Some companies are better than others. My girlfriend has all (6 soon to be 7)of hers insured, and it doesn't cost that much. There are different types of insurance coverage.. Some of hers have full medical, surgical, and mortality, and loss of use while other have only some of the options. Once a horse gets over about 15 years old some companies wont cover them or they will only do it yearly. But definately get a list from a vet and talk with them about who they would recommend.
Hope this helps.
