Pig oil for Hairy horsees

I have a Gypsy Vanner. Just recently I have read about the benifits of pig oil for keeping their feather clean,soft, long, and white. I also read that it is paraffin based. So I was wondering if I could use this lamp oil I have that is 99% paraffin oil.

Can anyone enlighten me?
