well hot dog! how much are you going to charge for breeding? I live all the way over here in Indiana. We will be coming to Navada early Oct. for the birth of my husbands first Grandchild. Where in Navada are you located? If it's not to far we may be able to stop in and check out your handsome guy. You can email me privot if you don't want to post it on here. Lifetime breeding dang you are lucky. I seen someone had one of there breedings for sale this year because they wern't going to use it I could have cried.
Have a website?

I actually sold my breeding for 2007 but it will be the only one that I sell.....I just had too many outside breedings this year....Last year I had one mare that did not take and two that lost their foals and with the three or four I had for this year...my boys were not very happy.....I like to breed two to three outside either year, that way I can sell a couple and keep several (bring new blood into my lines). For example, this year I bred to The Big Gun, Pepto Taz, Yellow Roan of Texas. The mare I had booked to Trashadeous would not ovulate so that will be next year and Little Royal Peppy got very sick and was unable to ship......If I had known I was not going to be able to breed two of the mares I would have kept my CMS breeding. Oh well.....next year...
As far as OFP Dun Splashd Color, I am starting his stud fee at $750.00, there is a $200 booking fee (which is included in the stud fee) and shipping & chute fee is $500.00 -- I am not completely set up the ship yet so I have to take him to the vets.

Sounds like you know what your doing. I breed my mares to my own stallion except for one outside. I am cutting way back and trying to get down to just a couple mares a number I can handle better and then try to upgrade by breeding to nice outside stallions. I have never done the AI or shiping before so this would be new for me, I have a new mare I'm trading for coming in a few weeks that is a bay and homozygous for the Tobiano gene. I plan on getting her vet checked by my vet to see if she is a good canidate for AI. I also have a homozygous black and white mare who has Tuff Black Panther on top and bottom but I'm not planing on breeding her. I bought her last Nov as a two year old and had plans to send her to the trainers and making her into my riding horse when after thre weeks there we discoverd she was in foal! The people I bought her from said they didn't tell me she had been bred because they didn't think she took . Needless to say I was not happy she was in foal and feel she was way to young, I had a horrible time keeping weight on her do to her being in foal and growing herself, her sire was over 16 hh.
She's doing ok now but no plans to breed her for a couple years.
Do you have a website?
What is you stallion full registerd name and number?
Thanks
Cathy C

We do have a website.... oconnorfoxperformancehorses.com
OFP Dun Splashd Color (821877) aka "Casper"....sorry to hear about someone breeding a mare at two.....I don't like to bred them until at least three to four (I bred them then so that at the age of 9 or more they are not maiden mares - I find that a older maiden mare has more problems when time to bred and/or foal) -- If you are interested I have a homozygous tobi yearling filly for sale.....she is by LS Smart N Hot (Color Me Smart out of a daughter of Doc Doll) out of my daughter of Doc Doll (second dam a daughter of Mr. Gun Smoke). I only have her priced at $5,500.
Back to your mare.....to help put weight free feed her All In One....also, Rice Brand will help put on weight. Good luck....you can email me privately when it gets closer to the time with any questions.
