Cool lightwieght western saddle?

is there a nice light western saddle that is cheap? doesn't need to be fancy, just some padding a sturrips. just a very simple saddle would do. i am getting tired of having to fix my saddle all the time some people from Horse and Rider store put on the new sturrips wrong, now one can't go short as it was before, and the other can go way shorter than the other, and it is really heavy to lug to the car all the time.p and i think my horse would love to have a light wieght saddle. i know i would. any ideas? brand and/or style names would be great. all ideas welcome!

thanks,

texaswesternrider.

Default This one I've found to be very light

I bought a King series Trekker Neutron Endurance Trail saddle with a horn. The saddle is synthetic and light and the stirrups are padded. I bought the wide tree (which fits my quarter horse extremely well.) The saddle is advertised at approximately 23 lbs and I paid right around $300 for mine. This style saddle can be bought in a wide tree (7" Full Quarter horse bars - this is the one I have) or a regular tree. The least expensive place I found this saddle is on Saddles Tack Horse Supplies - ChickSaddlery.com (they also have a a 30 day return policy if you don't like the saddle.) Hope this helps.

Sorry if the information didn't carry over. Here's the link of the one I had bought.

Trekker Neutron Endurance Trail Saddle- Wide Tree: Saddles Tack Horse Supplies - ChickSaddlery.com

There are a lot of different styles/types of saddles out there that are light weight. The only reason why I went with the endurance style is my horse has a short back and I'm more used to riding an english saddle instead of a western but some "physical" issues with one of my legs, from the accident 3 years ago, has left me feeling more secure in this type of saddle with the horn. There are many different types of lightweight saddles out there for many different diciplines. Hope this helps.

Default Not cheap but wow

Last year I switched to a Bob Marshall Treeless after going through saddle fitting heck with my horse. I absolutely love it and my horse moves out better than he ever has before. I am an avid trail rider and can spend anywhere from 2 hours to 8 hours in the saddle on a trail ride. The BM was a godsend for me and my horse. You cannot dally to the horn at all but it is an awesome saddle to trail ride in. I know folks who barrel race in them also.

I've never had good luck with treeless or synthetic saddles. They flex too much and don't stay in the middle of a horses back but if they work for you, more power to you.

Hi

If you're looking for lightweight, try a synthetic.

They're normally both lighter and less expensive than full leather saddles. Plus they don't require the same level of maintenance.

There are quite a few different, reasonably priced models shown here: Synthetic Saddles :: Western saddle Horse tack English saddles Pony saddle for sale - SaddleOnline Inc.

When I think cheaper and lightweight but still somewhat quality I think Circle Y. You can pick up a good broken in used on online cheap, about $400-$500.
