Smile Endurance tack

I am wanting to get into endurance riding, and am looking for some tack (also, a horse, but that is a different matter entirely ) i could stand to drop a few pounds myself (a work in progress) so am really wanting to shave of excess poundage in equipment, but durability and comfort for both of us is more important than an air-light saddle. I am looking for your personal opinions and preferances for brands, style, or even a specific model of saddle/bridle. and, if i am consitently riding at a brisk walk/trot about every other day for at least and hour, what, or if, i need to give some extra support the horse's legs (once again, in your opinion.)

I would also love to hear what piece of equipment is your favorite, or has been the most useful, even if it is not related to what i am looking for! please put down your fav even if it has already been posted here by someone else!

P.S. i ride using a western saddle!

sorry for spelling errors and if there is a post that is simular that i didn't see.

Hi Kirstinetx I live in New Zealand and ride endurance.

I brought from horsesaddleshop.com a tucker endurance saddle which was westernised.
I do have a blog and if you wish to see how it looks there is a photo on the blog,

horsesaddleshop is in the States and ship all over the world.

worth a look

When I did endurance I bought alot of used items online from ebay and other tack sites because the tack will just get beat up on the trail anyways, so different from show tack! I had a wintec endurance saddle, but I think they make a western style too? The breastplate and bridle where biothane with an extremely lightweight hackamore piece used from airplane materials.
